چکیده

Context: Over the years, several modeling languages for requirements have been proposed. These languages employ different conceptual approaches, including scenario-based and goal-oriented ones. Empirical studies providing evidence about requirements model comprehensibility are rare, especially when addressing languages that belong to different modeling approaches. Objective: This work aims to compare the comprehensibility of requirements models expressed in different but comparable modeling approaches from a requirements analysts’ perspective. In particular, in this paper we compare the comprehensibility of requirements models expressed in two visual modeling languages: Use Case, which is scenario-based, and Tropos, which exploits goal-oriented modeling. We further compare the effort required for comprehending the different models, and the derived productivity

Comparing Comprehensibility of Modelling Languages for Specifying Behavioural Requirements

The selection of a suitable modelling language influences the success of software modelling. Several experiments comparing the comprehensibility of graphical modelling languages have been published. However, no published study comparing the comprehensibility of functional requirements modelled in different graphical modelling languages exists. This paper evaluates how two requirements modelled ...

Comparing ANN and CART to Model Multiple Land Use Changes: A Case Study of Sari and Ghaem-Shahr Cities in Iran

Most of the land use change modelers have used to model binary land use change rather than multiple land use changes. As a first objective of this study, we compared two well-known LUC models, called classification and regression tree (CART) and artificial neural network (ANN) from two groups of data mining tools, global parametric and local non-parametric models, to model multiple LUCs. The ca...

Comparison of time to the event and nonlinear regression models in the analysis of germination data

Extended abstract   Introduction: Numerous studies are being carried out to reveal the effects of different treatments on the germination of seeds from various plants. The most commonly used method of analysis is the nonlinear regression which estimates germination parameters. Although the nonlinear regression has been performed based on different models, some serious problems in its structure...

Large Scale Experiments Data Analysis for Estimation of Hydrodynamic Force Coefficients

This paper describes the various frequency domain methods which may be used to analyze experiments data on the force experienced by a circular cylinder in wave and current to estimate drag and inertia coefficients for use in Morison’s equation. An additional approach, system identification techniques (SIT) is also introduced. A set of data obtained from experiments on heavily roughened circular...
